Trauma
Trauma, big or small, can impact an individual emotionally, physically, and cognitively and can have lasting effects on an individual's life and on his/her relationships. Working together, we can release these binds, allowing you to live life more fully.
Women and Mothers
Women's matters have a unique and vital role in physical and emotional health. From self esteem and body image to relationships with others and infertility, pregnancy, and motherhood, being a woman has it's challenges and joys. Psychotherapy can assist in navigating membership in this special group.
Eating Disorders (based on severity) / Body Image
Eating disorders develop as coping mechanisms to help individuals manage life. With compassion and care, treatment focuses on healing the client emotionally, physically, and cognitively in order to face the challenges of life through productive and life giving means.
Negative body image is common and can be influenced by a variety of factors including: societal pressures, past experiences and personal beliefs. Find freedom from the confines of shame and guilt and relearn what it means to have a healthy relationship with food and your body.
Life Transitions
Adjusting to change, planned or unplanned, can be difficult and may cause: stress, sleep issues, worry or sadness. Psychotherapy can bring you support and partnership while assisting in making the transition as smooth as possible.
Anxiety & Depression
Occasional anxiety is a normal and an adaptive response to challenging situations, but excessive or prolonged anxiety can be debilitating and interfere with daily life. Developing the skills to balance the usefulness of temporary anxiety and preventing it from taking over life is key.
Depression is characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness and loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. Additional symptoms might include fatigue, changes in appetite and sleep patterns, and difficulty concentrating. Through therapeutic connection and an individualized approach, small steps are taken to lift the fog of depression.
Grief and Loss
Grief is the acute pain that follows loss. It is not limited to the death of a loved one but also the loss of a pet, career, an important role in life, or emotionally significant possessions. Sadness, anger, diminished appetite and/or enjoyment of activities are commonly associated symptoms. Therapy can bring you healing and peace.
