Approaches
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) systematically addresses healing through a three-pronged approach to ensure comprehensive recovery: resolve the past, stabilize the present and prepare for the future. This model simultaneously brings symptom relief while promoting growth and change. Through a thoughtful, respectful approach, clients gently move through painful memories and overwhelming emotions that keep them stuck toward a greater sense of stability, ease and presence.
EMDR is a proven treatment for trauma healing and recovery. Additionally, ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes to include anxiety, depression, grief and loss and other distressing life experiences.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the integration of seemingly opposite truths, primarily balancing acceptance of one’s current experience with the necessity of change. This framework posits that everything is interconnected, change is constant and tension is inevitable. By way of mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness, clients learn to manage their emotions, improve their relationships and increase their overall quality of life. DBT can be used for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, loss and more.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) brings balance and harmony to the individual by healing wounded parts within the psyche. This restoration of the authentic self allows for increased confidence, clarity, connectedness, courage, calmness, playfulness, patience and presence. IFS can be used for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, loss and more.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy recognizes the events that occur throughout a person’s life are impactful and can shape one’s identity. From this perspective, the individual learns they are the experts regarding their own life and how they can uncover the dreams, values, goals and skills that define who they are, separate from their problems. Narrative therapy can be used for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, loss and more.
Grief and Loss
Grief is a natural response to loss and is experienced in a variety of ways. Therapy provides a supportive and safe space for individuals to express and process their grief, as well as explore their feelings and thoughts related to the loss.
